2 weeks out!

Well. We are two away from Joe being home for good... at least for a little while. We just got one of his trunks in the mail. he sent some toys home for the kids. they loved the little stuffed animals. I think the teddy bear was the favorite though. lol Nathan got a sand castle builder kit and he's been out in the back yard using it as much as he could. lol

When Joe gets back we are going to try to take a little vacation before it's time to get back to work. I think we are going to get fireworks for July 4th this year. I mean if we didn't wouldn't that be kind of weird? lol maybe have a picnic too. that would be fun. All healthy of course. I am going to start him on weight training. Then we will have something else we can do together. :)

Ok well wish these two weeks go through quick for me!

5 weeks!

Wow. I am so excited. Only 5 weeks and my soldier will be home. It's been 6 1/2 months since I have seen him on his 2 week leave. We have a lot of fun things planned for when he gets back. We are going to go to Alabama and see his Mom when he gets back and it will be near her 50th birthday so we are going to celebrate . =)

Ok well join me on the count down! lol

Our story

I met him Nov 18th of 06 and my life has never been the same. Dec 1st we started "dating" and by Dec 18th we were living together ( lol I would not recommend this for everyone ) .

March 02,07 we went to the court house and said our wedding vowels. I wasn't nervous or scared. I knew this man loved me and would make a great step father for my son.

The end of April we found that we were going to have a baby. It was quite a surprise but we were still happy that we were going to have another little treasure. :)

When we went to find out what the baby was he ( now we know. lol ) was not wanting to cooperate so we didn't find out if we were having a girl or a boy.

The baby was due January 29th but he decided to come January 13th! I have never seen a man so in tune and concerned about someone . He stayed with me through all 14 hours of labor. It was HORRIBLE labor by the way. lol (I didn't take any pain medications because I had the baby at a maternity center with a mid wife. ) I don't think he left my side to even go to the bathroom. maybe he went once but I think that was to take me. hehe

Finally we had a lovely little boy but sadly his lungs were not fully developed so we had to let him go to Children's hospital in Knoxville,TN. They did a great job with our little guy and we were able to bring him home in 2 weeks.

We found out shortly after that my husband was going to be deployed to Iraq. We spent every minute together that we could and now we are just waiting for our soldier to get home...

Hi everyone.

Here is some background on me.

I want to let you know there is some one else out there going through the same thing! It is so tough but we can all make it through together.

I am 22 years old. Mother of 2 boys 5 yrs and 1 yr old. I have been married for 2 years to a great soldier named Joe... GI Joe. ;)

Joe was deployed to Iraq July 12th 08. Our baby was just 6 months old and it was so hard for him to leave. I am just very glad that he did get to be there for the birth. I think that would be the hardest thing to miss.

We now "only" have 93 more days left to go . He got his leave back in November so it is a really long haul from then to July. :(
